A heat-shock factor that protects rice flowering

Abstract
A few hours of heat at flowering can halve a rice harvest. Mapping a heat-tolerant landrace, we find a heat-shock factor that protects pollen, and show that adding it to a modern variety keeps yields steady through a 38 °C heatwave.
